McKeown Petroleum is an independent oil company, operating our own fleet of trucks, servicing our own service station network and commercial customer base.

The only tangible difference between McKeown Petroleum and the major brands is that we do not import fuel into New Zealand. Instead we choose to purchase ex terminal from Caltex.

McKeown Petroleum does not promote its own retail brand. Instead we utilise the Caltex and Challenge brands for our retail operations and Fuelcard business. McKeown Petroleum is the branded wholesale marketer of choice in the South Island for Caltex fuels, lubricants and retail aligned and associated products.

We are also the franchisee for Caltex Oil Shop outlets from Balclutha to Tinwald for the convenient purchasing of lubricants and associated products at competitive prices.
